ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Bar Association on Friday decided to challenge the Judicial Commission in the 18th Amendment which was passed by the two houses of Parliament on Thursday.
In the 18th Amendment, the appointment of the judges would be made through the Judicial Commission represented by the government and the opposition members in the Parliament.
The decision to challenge the Judicial Commission was taken in a meeting of the SCBA headed by Qazi Mohammad Anwar, the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Seventeen out of 20 members present in the meeting supported the resolution to challenge the Judicial Commission. However, two members rejected the resolution and one abstained from making a decision.
