KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has become “one trillion rupee” bank through dedicated efforts of its employees and Management.
Addressing to the Regional Management Teams of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujrat, Mirpur, and Muzaffarabad Regions, on the occasion of 1st Training Hub meeting of 2010 at Islamabad President NBP Ali Raza, appreciated the performance of RMT’s and congratulated them on their achievement, for the year 2009.
“It is not the end, we have to travel some extra miles and gather our energies to further strengthen our deposit base, reduce non-performing portfolio and control expenses where possible”, he added.
He also stressed on enhancing fee-based business to excel profit. Mobilisation of rural deposits, agriculture financing should be given emphasis, improving customer service should be our priority agenda making the customers our partners, he said.
President NBP invited the RMTs to bring new ideas for developing new products, searching for new avenues of business and would be welcomed if found practicable and such efforts will be properly recognized. “Destiny is in your hands, you can fly as high as you can, your ideas must always be in action” he remarked.
Earlier, while opening the Hub meeting Dr. Mirza Abrar Baig, Group Chief, HRM& AG, welcomed the President and thanked for his presence and address on the occasion. Greatest challenge, our bank is facing is in the area of IT and HR, he said. Induction of management trainees constantly under a transparent system is a solution to our future challenges. It is the duty of RMT’s in the regions to make best possible use of this trained work force according to their capabilities and not to waste this precious resource by involving them in low caliber activities.
He also added, NBP management is attaching more value to human capital of the bank and is very kind, keen to look after the welfare of employees providing a work friendly environment and removing all communication barriers. The management believes in open communication and motivates workforce for surpassing the previous results.
