ABBOTTABAD: The ongoing tense situation in Abbottabad and Mansehra diluted a bit; however, the enraged youth today blocked the roads on several points in the city, Geo News reported Wednesday.
Abbottabad marked today as the second day of mourning for people killed at the hands of police on April 12 in Abbottabad amid law and order situation under control of police.
At some points, the demonstrators blocked the Mansehra Road by erecting the hurdles. Some demonstrators pelted the vehicles with stones in Supplai areas.
The educational institutions are closed till Thursday in the city. The attendance at the offices remained thin today.
The law and order situation improved after the transfer of DIG Hazarah Syed Imtiaz Altaf and DCO Abbottabad Captain (retired) Muneer Azam.
Tehreek Sooba Hazarah chief Sardar Hyder Zaman appealed to people to stay calm, saying the people going on rampage and harming private and government properties, are not well-wishers of the Tehreek.
After the announcement by Tehreek’s Action Committee to end all sorts of strike and protest, the life in District Mansehra is fast returning to normalcy. The shops and commercial centers re-opened.
However, turnout at offices remained thin thanks to the absence of public traffic. Also, the commuters going to other districts from Mansehra are facing great problems.
In some areas, the groups of youth began to block the Karakoram Highway.
