Zardari better than police establishment: suspended DSP

LAHORE: Suspended DSP Imran Babar Jameel said he would have been killed, had he not come in the limelight of media, Geo News reported Wednesday.

Talking to media after appearing before a local court for his statement, he said he would claim damages worth Rs100 million against the police high-ups for leveling accusations against him.

Imran said the high officials informed him that he was suspended for his wrong date of birth at the time of appointment.

Commenting on his stint with President Asif Ali Zardari, the demoted DSP said he used to take the President from PIMS Hospital to Attock Jail while sharing cigarettes with the president who used to light them.

Terming the President a good friend, he said Zardari is better than the police establishment.

Earlier, he said in his statement SP City Zeeshan Asghar treated him inappropriately and threateningly, adding if the CIA police station set up in Model Town Lahore, was closed down, it would greatly help in taking down the crimes.

In his statement before Additional Judge Zawwar Ahmed, he said he was under great pressure to leave dacoits and was threatened to be killed if he did not comply.
